[Piech~52.ftw]
Oral History Adeline Piechorowski Holvoet 6-19-2000
Stanislaus was born in
Brzyskorzystew, Poland April 19, 1881he was the last child born in the old
country when he accompanied his parents on the SS Donau to America in April of
1882 at the age of 11months.
Stanislaus worked at
Singer Sewing Machine factory during the day as a cabinet maker. At night he
would help Lottie with the decoration of cakes and such things as she was doing
in her catering business.
I remember that one
Christmas before he died he bought myself and my sister Dorothy a Doll and
Buggy that we were to share, as siblings we would fight over who was to play
with it and when .
I remember he picked
me up and said my name in Polish and kissed me. I was four years old at the
time. The next thing I remember is that people told me that he was dead and
everyone was crying and I was sad.
