Services for Stanley Cholanski,
76, of 616 S Falcon St., who died at 9am Monday in St Joseph’s Medical Center
after a three week illness, will be at 10am Thursday in St Adalbert’s
Catholic Church. Rev. Eugene J. Kazmierczak, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may call form 7
to 9pm today and 2 to 9pm Wednesday at the St Joseph Funeral Home, where a
rosary will be recited at 4:30pm Wednesday by the Harvest House of St Adalbert’s Church. A
wake service will be conducted by the parish and Holy Name Society at 7:30pm Wednesday
at the funeral home.
He was born April 12,
1905, in South Bend and was a lifetime area resident. He was a former employee of the Studebaker
Corp. On October 6, 1931, in South Bend,
he married Severine Barczykowski. She survives with a daughter, Mrs. Marie Ann Dudzinski of South Bend; a son, Daniel E. of South Bend;
nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; eight sisters, Mrs. Estelle Gadacz, Mrs. Celia Dobrzykowski,
Mrs. Gladys Ewald, Mrs. Dorothy Ference,
Mrs. Joan Launer, Mrs. Harriet Pittman, Mrs. Virginia
Ziolkowski all of South Bend and Mrs. Frances Grajczyk of Virginia; and a brother, William of South Bend.
He was a charter member
of the St Joseph Young Men’s Society, a member of the Holy Name Society of the
church, the Harvest House, the Jolly Sixties & Local 5 UAW.

Gladys Ewald, 99, of the Cardinal Health and Rehabilitation Center,
South Bend, Ind. Died at 11:32 a.m. on Monday, April 28, at Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Ewald was born May 22, 1897 in Buffalo, N.Y.,
and lived in this area for 80 years, coming from Buffalo. She was the daughter
of William Cholasinski and Mary Krusczinski.
She was married on
Nov. 6, 1919, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, in
South Bend as Gladys Cholasinski, to Louis Ewald. He preceded her in death on Feb. 14, 1956. She was
also preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Rans in
1978. Mrs. Ewald is survived by four daughters,
Dorothy Kedik and Theresa Jannasch,
both of South Bend, Irene Mackey of Montana and Delores Gibbs of Alabama; 18
grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and by two
sisters, Harriet Pittman and Virginia Ziolkowski,
both of South Bend. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in
the St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
Services will be at 10 p.m. on Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church, with
burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.

SOUTH BEND - Jane M. Cholasinski, 97, passed away at 10:31 a.m. on Sunday,
January 11, 2009, in Miller's Merry Manor, New Carlisle, IN. Jane was born on
September 28, 1911, in South Bend, to the late Joseph and Antoinette (Nowaczyk) Grajczyk. On November
25, 1939, she married Joseph P. Cholasinski in South
Bend. He preceded her in death on February 21, 1978. She was also preceded in death
by two brothers, Joseph and Roman Grajczyk; and by
three sisters, Adeline Zmyslo, Stella and Mary Grajczyk. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia J.
(Greg) Trammell of South Bend; two grandchildren, Ryan (Vanessa) Trammell of
Carmel, IN, and Erin (Casey) Heaton of St. Augustine, FL; and by two
great-grandchildren, Tate and Pete. Jane was a member of St. Adalbert Catholic Church, Harvest House, and the Legion of
Mary Polish Women's Alliance #335. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m.
Wednesday, January 14, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South
Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will
be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, in St. Adalbert
Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
