survived by his wife and the following children: Mre A Baker, Mrs J Russ, and
Helen and Alex Brzezinski of South Bend. Funeral Services will be held at St.
Hedwig, Saturday morning at 8:00 p.m. Rev A Zbuowicz will officiate. Burial
will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Agnes Nowicki,
85, died at 5:20 a.m. Sunday in the Carlyle Nursing Home after a long illness.
She was born on April 1, 1894, in South Bend. As Agnes Drajus she married
Vincent F. Brzezinski, who died on Aug. 20, 1945. On Jan. 20, 1962, she married
John L. Nowicki, who died in October 1969. Surviving are two daughters, Loretta
Reiter of Mishawaka, and Rita Brzezinski of South Bend, and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Hedwig Catholic Church, with Rev.
Mathew Sienkiewicz, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Kaniewski & Sons Funeral
Home, where the parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today.

Bernard J. Reiter, 55,
of 412 W. Mishawaka Ave., Mishawaka, formerly of South Bend, died at 7:20 a.m.
Sunday in St. Joseph’s Hospital after a week’s illness. Reiter retired in 1967
from the South Bend Police department after 20 years, and for eight years
worked in the radio shop for South Bend. Born on Nov. 23, 1920, in South Bend,
he had lived here until moving to Mishawaka eight years ago. On May 3, 1947, he
married Loretta Brezinski, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Joseph of
Talbatton, Ga., and Timothy, at home; three daughters, Ann Dee of McLean, Va.;
Mrs. Candice Kyler of Mishawaka and Sandra at home; two brothers, Theodore and
Robert, both of South Bend; and a sister, Mrs. Dorothy VanTornhout of South
Bend. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the St. Monica Catholic Church,
Mishawaka. Rev. Roman Zbieranski, O.S.M., head of St. Thomas Friary in
Pennsylvania, and a cousin, will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview
Cemetery, Mishawaka. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Kaniewski
and Sons Funeral Home. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the
Fraternal Order of Police.

He served in the Army
during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on November 1, 1960. He received the following citations: Korean Service Medal, Bronze Service Star,
United M\Nations Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct Medal,
National Service Medal, and Presidential Unit Citation. He is now in a nursing home.

SOUTH BEND - Chester M.
Zbieranski, 75, formerly of Woodlawn Blvd., passed away at 4:43 a.m. Sunday,
July 22, 2007, in Holy Cross Care and Rehabilitation Center, following a
lengthy illness. He was born on February 14, 1932, to the late Chester and
Josephine (Brzezinski) Zbieranski in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong
resident. Along with his parents, his brother, Rev. Roman (Paul) Zbieranski of
Illinois, also preceded him in death on June 21, 2007. Chester graduated from
St. Hedwig Grade School and South Bend Catholic High School. After graduation
he worked for the Singer Company before being drafted into the United States
Army on November 24, 1952. There he served until November 24, 1954, as a
corporal. After returning home from the Army, Chester worked for Interstate
Glass in South Bend as an order clerk until 1979. Then he worked for Albert's
Bar as a bar manager until he became ill. Chester leaves behind his loving
cousins. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his dedication
to his family. He enjoyed playing cards, following the Detroit Tigers, Notre
Dame Football and talking about his fond memories of the family history. He was
a member of St. Hedwig Parish. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Thursday, July 26, 2007, in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South
Bend, IN. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007, in
St. Hedwig Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial
contributions may be made to St. Hedwig Catholic Church, 331 S. Scott Street, South
Bend, IN 46601.

SOUTH BEND - Father
Roman (Paul) Zbieranski, 73, of Abington Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility,
passed away on June 21 after a courageous battle with prostate cancer. He was
born to the parents of Chester and Josephine (Brzezinski) Zbieranski on
December 20, 1933, in South Bend. He leaves behind his loving brother Chester.
As Paul Zbieranski, he graduated from St. Hedwig's Grade School in 1947 and
South Bend Catholic High School in 1951. He attended St. Bonaventure Seminary
in Stuevant, WI for his post-graduate work between 1951 and 1952. He received
his BA degree from St. Francis College in Burlington, WI in 1957. He went on to
study Theology at Christ the King Seminary in West Chicago, IL between 1957 and
1961. He also attended the University of Notre Dame, where he received his MA
in Business Administration in 1972. He was ordained as a Franciscan priest on
May 27, 1961, in Joliet, IL. He said his first Mass at St. Hedwig's Church, in
South Bend, on June 4, 1961. He served on the faculty at Archbishop Ryan High
School in Philadelphia from 1962 to 1978. He went on to serve many other
provincial appointments in Pulaski WI, Saginaw, MI, Chicago, IL, Camden, NJ,
Manitowoc, WI, and Franklin WI. He ended his religious life serving as
Associate Pastor for St. Isaac Jogues Parish in Niles, IL. Fr. Roman loved
popcorn, shopping, decorating, salads, sweaters, shoes, classical music, bike
riding, yoga and preparing liturgies. He also had a great appreciation for
people. He was a good administrator, an able negotiator, a perfectionist, and
someone who appreciated style and good taste. A visitation of the body will be
held at St. Isaac Jogues Church in Niles, IL from 4 to 9 p.m. on Monday, June
25. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held at 10
a.m. on Tuesday, June 26. Fr. Roman will then be returned to Wisconsin, where a
visitation of the body will take place on Wednesday June 27, at 10 a.m. in
Assumption BVM Church, in Pulaski. Interment will follow immediately in the
provincial cemetery. Father Roman asked that memorial contributions be made to
St. Isaac Jogues Church, organizations helping the poor, or for Masses.

Mass for James C. McIntyre, 75, of South Bend, Indiana, will be held Friday,
Sept. 5th, at 11 a.m. in Christ the King Catholic Church, 52473 State Road 933,
South Bend. Father Ron Tripi, CSC, will officiate. Born on March 4, 1933, in South
Bend, Indiana, he passed away August 12, 2008. Before retirement to Indiana, he
had resided in Florida and was the membership director for the West Pasco
Chamber of Commerce and served in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary where he
became an instructor in watercraft safety. Also while in Florida, he served as
president of the homeowners association and was a member of the Catholic
Church. Survivors include his wife, Georgianne (Brzezinski) McIntyre; two
children, Mary (Robert) Hedel and David (Teri) McIntyre; three grandchildren,
Rhiannon McIntyre, Ian McIntyre and Erica Harris; and a sister, JoAnne Weller.
Other survivors include several nieces and nephews. Mr. McIntyre was preceded
in death by his parents, Everette Raymond McIntyre and Lavonne (Cox) McIntyre;
and by three brothers, Warren McIntyre, Todd Richard McIntyre and Thomas
McIntyre. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Center for Hospice
and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend IN 46637-3437; or to
Christ the King Catholic Church, 52473 State Road 933, South Bend IN
