SOUTH BEND - Raymond J. Dobrucki, 86, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2009, in Memorial Hospital. Raymond was born on October 22, 1922, in South Bend, to the late Steven and Carrie (Banicki) Dobrucki. On July 14, 1972, Raymond married Miriam (Bush) who passed away on January 15, 1989. He is survived by his stepsons, John W. (Suzanne) and Jim W. (Susan) Bush; step-grandchildren, Bryan Bush, Jennifer (Jack) Kary and Andrea (Stephen) Gratrix; step-great- grandchildren, Karsten and Alexis Kary, Heidi and Eden Gratrix; a brother, Leonard (Jane) Dobrucki; nieces, Bonnie Dawson and Sue Nemeth; a nephew, Terry Dobrucki; and his beloved friend of 17 years, Shirley Rajski. A lifelong resident of South Bend, Raymond retired as a forklift driver from the A.M. General Corporation in 1987. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge, and American Legion Post #357. He served in the United States Army Air Corps, being discharged in 1946. Visitation will be today, January 11, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend. A Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, January 12, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
