MICHAL (No Definite Proof)
I am not local, but my
wife Kathleen Nowacki (who spoke to you last week on
another question) recevied an email from the
secretary at Saint Casimir that shows that Ignacy's wife Hedwigis is the
godmother of Joseph Bartkowiak. Joseph was born March 11 1899 son of Michael
and Helen. So if no relationship between
Michael and Ignacy, why did Michael
and Helen chose Ignacy's wife as the godmother
to their son Joseph. Also, the godfather
for Joseph is Charles Wentland who happened to live
at 444 Walnut in the 1900 census which is the house across the street from Ignacy Bartkowiak.

Prairie, Indiana. She married GEORGE ADALBERT SZYNSKI 1887 in Wagrowiec, Posen, son of PROGENITOR SZYNSKI and JUSTINA SZYNSKI. He was born March 22, 1864 in Wagrowiec, Posen, and died April 21, 1948 in South Bend
Range.
Notes for FRANCES BARTKOWIAK:
Proof of Relationship
I found enough proof
to verify that Ignacy Bartkowiak
and Frances (Bartkowiak) Szynski are brother and sister by locating her
name on the 1820-1948 Baltimore List.
Frances is listed with her husband Wojciech
and about 4
children. Frances lists Ignacy as her brother and lists 443 Walnut, South Bend, IN
as her destination.
Frances arrived in the
US in April 1900 on the ship HH Meier out of Bremen, Germany into the Port of
Baltimore, Maryland. She lists her last
residence as Posen. She arrived at the
age of 33 years.
