2.  IGNACY2 BANICKI (JACOB1) was born July 12, 1854 in Krolikowo, Prussian Poland, and died September 17, 1938 in South Bend IN.  He married MARY OLEJNICZAK February 28, 1886 in St Casimir, South Bend, Indiana.  She was born November 24, 1856 in Gluszyn, Poznan, Prussian Poland, and died 1943 in South Bend IN.

Ignacy Banicki dies at age 84, Ill three months, Resident here 60 years

 

Ignacy Banicki, aged 84 of 1109 West Grace street, one of the oldest members

of St. Casmir's Roman Catholic parish died at 11:53 P.M. Friday in his home

after an illness of three months. Feb 28, 1935 with his wife he celebrated

the 50th anniversary of their marriage in St. Hedwige's Roman Catholic Church

here. Born in Poland July 12, 1854, he came to South Bend from Toledo, O. 60 years

ago. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary Banicki, nee Olejniczak; four sons Joseph,

Casimir, Frank and Vincent Banicki, and a daughter Miss Blanche Banicki, all

of South Bend; two brothers John Banicki, of South Bend and Leo Banicki of

Poland; 21 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Friends will be received

in the home tonight. The funeral will be held at 9 A.M. Tuesday in St. Casimir's

church with Rev. Stanislaus J. Gortka C.S.C. pastor, chanting the requiem

high mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Mr. Banicki was a member of St. Casimir'' Fraternal Aid society.

Leo C. Banicki, aged 48, of 1124 W. Grace street, tavern keeper at 610 South

Arnold Street, died at 10:20 o'clock Friday night after a week's illness. He

was born in South Bend, March 3, 1889 and lived here all his life. On Sept

9, 1913 he was married in St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church to Miss Sallie

Dobrzykowska, who survives. Also surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Ignacy Banicki; four brothers Joseph, Casimir, Frank and Vincent, and a

sister Miss Blanche Banicki, all of South Bend. The body may be viewed in

the home tonight until the time of the funeral which will take place at 10

o'clock Wednesday morning from St. Casimir's church with Rev. Anthony J.

Rozewicz C.S.C., pastor, chanting the high requiem mass. Burial will be in

St. Joseph Polish Cemetery. Mr. Banicki was a member of St. Florian's

society, St. Vincent de Paul society, No 79, Polish Roman Catholic union; the

Polish Federation of American and Lottie A. Zell garrison No 146, Army and

Navy Union.

Frank L Banicki,816 S. Pulaski St. died at 1;50am today in St. Joseph

Hospital after an illness of five months. He was born in South Bend August

12, 1896 and had lived here all his life. His wife Bernice, died in 1933.

Mr. Banicki was employed at the Studebaker-Packard Corp for 34 years.

Surviving are two sons, Irvin and Eugene, both of South Bend and three

daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Carlson and Mrs. Theresa Swartz both of South Bend and

Mrs. Janine Squadroni of Mishawaka, In; 13 grandchildren; two brothers Joseph

and Casimer and a sister Mrs. Blanche DeRuyck, all of South Bend. Friends

may call after 7pm Saturday in the Kaniewski and Son Chapel. Services will

be at 9am Monday in St. Casmir's Church with Rev. Bernard M.Niemier CSC

pastor, officiating. The burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Mr. Banicki

was a veteran of WW I, a charter member of post 357 American Legion and a

member of Studebaker Local 5,UAW.

Mrs. Frank Danicki (Banicki)

 

Mrs. Bertha Danicki, age 30, of 816 S. Pulaski street, died at 12:05 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in Epworth hospital after a few hours illness. Born in Poland Feb. 12, 1903, she came here from that country 29 years ago. She was married in 1921 to Frank Danicki, who survives, with five children, Irvin, Eugene, Evelyn, Theresa and Jane (Janine). She leaves also her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Naciejewski (Maciejewski), and three sisters, Mrs. Irene Schoen and the Misses Virginia and Mary Naciejewski. The body will lie in the residence and the funeral will take place at 9 o'clock Saturday morning from St. Casimir's Roman Catholic church. Rev. Anthony Rosewicz, C.S.C., pastor, will read the mass and interment will be in St. Joseph cemetery.

Vincent Bernard Banicki

 

Vincent Bernard Banicki, aged 44, of 1105 West Grace Street, died at 12:40 a.m. Sunday in his home after an illness of six weeks. Born in South Bend March 22, 1899, he lived here all his life and on Jan. 31, 1921, was married in St. Casimir's Roman Catholic church to Miss Mary Lubawa, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Corp. Bernard E. Banicki of Camp McCoy, Wis., and Corp. Richard Banicki, of Camp Ellis, Ill.; two daughters, Esther and Rita Banicka, both at home; three brothers, Joseph, Casimir and Frank Banicki, and a sister Miss Blanche Banicka, all of South Bend. Friends will be received in the home. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Casimir's church with Rev. Boleslaus J. Szluczko, C.S.C., pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Polish cemetery

Joseph Banicki died at 9:20 a.m. Monday in the Nemeth Nursing Home 1145 W.

Napier St. where he resided after an extended illness. He was born in South

Bend on Dec. 26, 1887 and married Catherine Paszkiet in 1909. She survives

with a son Bert J. of Michigan City; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Walker, of

Palos Vista, CA, Mrs. Tillie Gorney and Mrs. Leona Kosik both of South Bend;

13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother Casimer and a sister

Blanche DeRuyck both of South Bend. Friends may call after 4P.M. today in

the Kaniewski and Son Funeral Home. Services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday in

St. Stanislalus Catholic Church with Rev. Sigmund A. Jankowski C.S.C., pastor

officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Mrs. Blanche V. DeRuyck

 

Mrs. Blanche V. DeRuyck, 79, of 25330 Ind. 2, died at 9 a.m. Thursday in her home after a brief illness. She was a former Studebaker employee. She was born Feb. 2, 1891, in South Bend and lived here all her life. As Blanche Banicki, she was married to Arthur J. DeRuyck in South Bend on Nov. 15, 1947. He survives with a son, Louis B. Rengielski, of South Bend; a niece, Mrs. Janine Squadroni, of Mishawaka; and a brother, Casimir Banicki, of South Bend. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday in The Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home. Services will be 9 a.m. Monday in St. Casimir Catholic Church with Rev. George H. Szymanowski, C.S.C., pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery. The parish rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
